Unsafe Staffing Fine

North Carolina’s MyFox8 reported that Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Thomasville paid a reduced fine for unsafe staffing.  100 patients only had three caregivers in January of 2022. An investigation found that patients were neglected. Many hospitalized. Two dead. The fine was reduced to a measly $126,000. The for profit parent company of Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center scapegoated facility management. They suspended the administrator and the Director of Nursing. It is rare that a facility gets fined for unsafe staffing.
