The Impact Of The Coronavirus In Nursing Homes

Today, Wednesday, September 21st at 2:00pm ET, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis will hold a hearing, “Examining Long-Term Care In America: The Impact Of The Coronavirus In Nursing Homes.” Watch the livestream of the hearing on YouTube or on the Subcommittee’s website.

Witnesses will include nursing home experts, an advocate, and a frontline worker who will speak about the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has posed to nursing home residents and staff and what strategies can be implemented to ensure nursing homes are better equipped to protect residents and staff in the future.

Experts at the hearing will discuss the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and structural problems in nursing homes, as well as possible solutions so that residents and staff can be better protected from COVID-19 and other public health risks.
