The Internal Revenue Service filings reveal who is funding Nikki Haley’s political career. Why are they so interested in the former South Carolina governor’s “nonprofit”?

Haley’s nonprofit policy advocacy group is Stand For America, Inc. The 501(c)(4) “social welfare” organization’s mission is to support “policy that will ensure a stronger, safer, and more prosperous country for all Americans.” Yeah, right.

Major donors include hedge fund manager Paul Singer, Wall Street investor Stanley Druckenmiller, and casino owners the Adelsons. Adelson.

Why is a wealthy Yankee New Jersey family paying Nikki Haley? Vivek and Lakshmi Garipalli are members of a New Jersey family that donated Haley’s organization $1 million.

“This disclosure of a confidential tax return was clearly a corrupt violation of state and federal law to try to intimidate conservative donors,” Haley said in a statement. “We will make sure the buck stops here.” We know where the bucks stop.
