Campaign Funds

Trump’s campaign also has been funneling money into his failing businesses. According to a new report filed with the Federal Election Commission, in February and March the Trump campaign wrote checks totaling $411,287 to Mar-a-Lago and in March a check for $62,337 to Trump National Doral Miami.  Trump spent $76 million on legal fees for 70 different lawyers and law firms to defend his personal or business activities.

Federal law generally bans the use of campaign funds for personal expenses. This is clearly abusive. Why would anyone give this “billionaire” their money?
