Trump’s Foreign Policy

German-American historian and philosopher Hannah Arendt in her 1951 The Origins of Totalitarianism:

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist,” she wrote, “but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction…and the distinction between true and false no longer exist.”

Trump is saying crazy things again.  His dementia is getting worse. He repeatedly threatens to buy Greenland. It’s not for sale.

He offered to make the sovereign country of Canada the fifty-first state. He is against statehood for Washington D.C. or Puerto Rico. Hmmm….

He also threatens to retake control of the Panama Canal falsely accusing Panama of “overcharging” U.S. ships and letting Chinese soldiers operate it. None of that is true. The United States entered into two treaties formally turning over control of the canal to the Panamanians on Dec. 31, 1999 which guaranteed the permanent neutrality of the Panama Canal. Rates are based on various factors applied uniformly.

Trump Shit

“Trump’s electoral success depended on so-called low-information voters, members of the electorate who couldn’t or didn’t distinguish between the tough talk and tough guy image the candidate portrayed and the reality of the policies that come with his win.”
