Record Price Per Bed

The average price per bed for nursing homes rose almost 22% year over year for the first quarter of 2021. Even as staffing shortages and low occupancy rates, profits soar because of the bail-outs and high reimbursement rates. Real estate investment trusts are active in the industry.

DAC Acquisition LLC entered into a merger agreement with Diversicare Healthcare Services for $10.10 per share, at a premium of approximately 210% compared to its 90-day average trading price.

Real estate investment trust DigitalBridge Group agreed to sell more than 140 skilled nursing and senior housing facilities for $3.2 billion deal. DigitalBridge will sell the assets to an investment group composed of two real estate investment firms, Highgate Capital Investments and Aurora Health Network.

Capital Funding Group closed a $262.6 million term loan for the refinancing of a 29-asset long-term care portfolio. The portfolio includes SavaSeniorCare nursing homes in Colorado, California and Wyoming. The portfolio will transition to four new regional operators.  SavaSeniorCare previously announced these divestitures last year.

This deal comes during a busy year for the Capital Funding Group.  The Group had more than $2 billion in deals in the first half of the year.  Headquartered in Hunt Valley, Md., Capital Funding Group manipulates Department of Housing and Urban Development loans, bridge lending and working capital loans and commercial banking for the long-term care sector.
