ObamaCare in North Carolina
Obamacare — the country’s largest expansion of health insurance since Medicare and Medicaid in 1965 is growing. North Carolina became the 40th state to agree to expand Medicaid under ObamacareRepublicans and Democrats came together to pass a Medicaid expansion. The Republican-controlled House in North Carolina passed the bill 87 to 24, while the Republican-controlled Senate passed it 44 to 2.
The number of Americans without health insurance has plummeted since the passage of Obamacare.
10 states still have not, including South Carolina. Two of the largest, Texas and Florida have not and more than 3.5 million adults lack health insurance as a result. These States refuse to expand despite its popularity and cost-effectiveness.
