N95 Masks

Drain the Swamp

In the midst of a national shortage of N95 masks, Trump secretly granted an exception to its export ban on protective gear. The U.S. Strategic National Stockpile has not yet met its goal for N95 respirators. See U.S. Government Accountability Office report. The December report said 190 million N95 respirators were in storage — short of its goal of 300 million.

However, the Trump Administration issued a waiver anyway. The waiver was transmitted to officials who oversee exports 103 minutes before Biden was sworn into office. Thereafter, Texas-based Prestige Ameritech was allowed to export more than 5 million per month.  See FEMA letter obtained by KHN. Prestige Ameritech is a key campaign contributor to Texas politicians and Trump allies Ted Cruz and Kevin McCarthy.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) reported that Trump reported earnings during his years as president at $1.6 billion.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the nation’s top infectious diseases expert. He admitted scientists lacked “any direction” during the last days of Trump’s time in office. In an interview with The Telegraph, Fauci said that scientists were “acting alone” trying to protect the nation during Trump’s presidency.

Since the Capital insurrection, Nikki Haley has attempted to condemn Trump’s role. Haley said Trump “lost any sort of political viability he was going to have” and questioned whether he would be a player in the future of the GOP.

Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 to halt the certification of electoral votes, leaving a police officer dead and dozens injured in the mayhem. Now, Trump refuses to meet with Nikki Haley.
