Lawsuit alleges “utter cruelty” and “torture” to residents

A recent Department of Human Services (DHS) inspection summary revealed details against Heritage Springs Memory Care. Two teenage employees reportedly abused elderly patients and took naked photos of them.  After the caregivers were accused of abusing residents and photographing without clothes,  more accusations were brought to light in recent filings. Some of the incidents alleged verbal sexual and emotional abuse of residents at the nursing home.

The stonewalling and cover-up caused a civil lawsuit against Heritage Springs Memory Care.

“This ongoing torture went on for months, in the supposed comfort of the ‘home’ for residents. The day-after-day reality facing these residents was a far cry from the promised ‘nurturing environment’ on Heritage Springs Memory Care Center’s webpage.”
