DeSantis for Prez? Really?

Florida broke several records for the number of cases reported in a single day reaching 76,000 new cases on New Year’s Eve. Florida is experiencing a 849 percent increase in COVID-19 cases this week. 

The Hill reported that Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis allowed more than 1 million COVID-19 rapid tests to expire while sitting in a Florida warehouse. What an idiot. People need these tests to stay safe and work.

On Dec. 21, Miami-Dade County’s mayor wrote a letter to DeSantis’ Surgeon General asking for “all possible tests be directed to Miami-Dade County to meet the growing demand for testing in our community.” DeSantis ignored the pleas for help. 

The Florida Department of Emergency Management confirmed that DeSantis allowed 1 million Abbott rapid COVID-19 tests to expire during the holidays.
