WREG reported on the tragic “dumping” of Noah Mangum by Collierville Nursing and Rehabilitation. Collierville Nursing and Rehab is a facility with a history of documented problems. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported  the criminal charges against management for cutting staff.  If this is a new trend, the prisons will be full. Private Equity Investors U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-NJ) is chairman of the House Ways and Means oversight subcommittee. Occupancy rates fell to the lowest level since data have been collected. MarketWatch asked an important question: Would you want your parents to live in a nursing home owned by private equity?   As a nursing home attorney, I have found that nonprofits are better than for-profits, and chains owned by private equity are the worse.
