Blindsided?

ABC13 reported a caregiver employee was arrested for beating a resident. Patrick Ray Piggee is accused of savagely beating a man at a boarding home owned by Allstar Boarding in Missouri City. Piggee faces two counts of injury to the elderly with bodily injury and continuous family violence.

The 75-year-old vulnerable adult was hospitalized and remains in the ICU.

The home, one of three run by Allstar Boarding, is not licensed which houses mostly men who are diagnosed with dementia. Owner Nikki Fant told ABC13 she was aware of Piggee’s criminal record when she hired him months ago. They knew Piggee had a substantial criminal record but hired him anyway.

“I cried. I was devastated. It was not anything I wanted anyone to endure. What he did was god-awful,” Nikki Fant, the owner of Allstar Boarding, said. “No, I didn’t’ see it coming. I was completely blindsided.”
