Supervision Failure
Supervision of vulnerable adults suffering from dementia is a key purpose of long term care facilities. The main safety issue.
Ohio Valley Manor nursing home allowed Margaret Marshall to suffer preventable injuries when they failed to supervise her. She wandered away from the nursing home, was injured, and died from her injuries. The hospital reported she had a brain injury, broken ribs and a broken pubic bone.
The Ohio Department of Health concluded the nursing home “failed to provide adequate supervision to prevent the elopement of a resident.”
