Signs of Life

I have been a nursing home attorney representing victims of abuse and neglect for over 25 years. I cannot believe this story. We all know signs of life.

NPR reported that caregivers at Water’s Edge Rehab and Nursing Center nursing home on Long Island, N.Y., pronounced a resident dead. They failed to recognize any signs of life. She was transferred to the funeral home.

More than three hours later, the funeral home employees discovered the woman was still alive and breathing.

Speechless.
