Heritage Springs Memory Care states that the nursing home is designed to provide a safe environment for patients with memory impairments like Alzheimer’s or dementia. However, KTXS reported two nursing home employees are accused of taking lewd photos of vulnerable elderly patients. According to an affidavit, the victims range between 69 to 100 years old.
Buffalo Valley Regional police investigated reports of a caregiver allegedly sharing inappropriate photos and videos of exposed patients at the nursing home. After searching through the caregiver’s phone, police found disturbing videos and photographs of elderly patients. Many showed abuse and neglect including partially clothed or fully nude vulnerable adults, fallen down, unresponsive, in a distraught state or not cognizant of what was occurring.
Madison Laine Cox is now facing five misdemeanor counts of abuse of a care-dependent person through illegal use of video or imaging. Police also charged her with 12 misdemeanor counts of engaging in acts that serve no legitimate purpose.
