The VP Stakes
In an astonishing exchange on Meet the Press, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), refused six times to say he would accept the results of the 2024 election if Trump didn’t win. Journalist Brian Stelter posted, “Scott’s statement is that he will only accept the results if Trump is declared the winner.”
Scott clearly wishes to be Trump’s VP because he assumes Trump will be convicted or impeached while President.
Scott voted to certify the 2020 presidential results and has previously said he does not believe the election was stolen.
Selling his soul to be Trump’s VP. he should ask Pence how that went.
Any of Trump’s eventual running mates will have vulnerabilities because Trump insists they have the following opinions.
- Election denial: Refusing to certify the results if they were VP.
- Abortion: Applauding Trump’s role in overturning Roe v. Wade and supporting a national abortion ban.
- Health care: Supporting repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
- Working families: Tax cuts for billionaires and cuts to Social Security and Medicare.
