Harris v. Trump

Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s campaign raised $81 million — a one-day record for presidential fund-raising — after Biden withdrew from the race. More than 30,000 people signed up to volunteer. Incredible.

Of course, Trump promoted a false claim that she’s ineligible to be vice president, echoing his false “birther” claims about Obama. At age 78, Trump is now the oldest presidential nominee in U.S. history, and known for mixing up names.

Mr. Trump also donated to Harris’s prior campaigns to become California’s attorney general and senator, campaign finance records show.  Mr. Trump donated $6,000 to Ms. Harris’s campaign after she had begun her career in statewide politics as California’s attorney general, taking office in January 2011. Mr. Trump’s first donation, for $5,000, came in September 2011, and he made an additional $1,000 contribution in February 2013, according to state records. His daughter Ivanka also gave Ms. Harris’s campaign $2,000 in 2014, according to records first reported by The Sacramento Bee.
