Dr. Deborah L. Birx sent in a private memo to the White House warning, “We are entering the most concerning and most deadly phase of this pandemic.” America’s daily coronavirus caseload has broken records and exceeded 100,000. Birx told Trump the pandemic is entering a new and “deadly phase” that demands a more aggressive approach. Dr. Birx warns that Trump and his advisers are not controlling the virus.

The warning contradicts Trump’s repeated false assertions that the pandemic is “rounding the corner.” The report predicted that the United States would continue to see daily new cases exceed 100,000. Government scientists and public health experts are increasingly concerned that the worst of the pandemic is yet to come.

Fauci

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci is the government’s top infectious disease expert. Trump’s supporters urged him to “Fire Fauci! Fire Fauci!”

The president responded: “Don’t tell anybody, but let me wait until a little bit after the election. I appreciate the advice.”

Trump is jealous of Fauci’s popularity and expertise.
