545 Children

545 Children

At least 60 under 5 years old.  Lost. Misplaced. Endangered.

In 2017, the Trump administration implemented their most controversial immigration policy. Separating young children and babies from their mothers. This was meant to deter future conduct and not punish the children or the parents. That is certainly not what happened.

Now, at least, 545 children cannot be located. A campaign to track down parents separated from their children at the U.S. border is hopeless. They separated almost 5 children per day.

About 60 of the children were under the age of 5 when they were separated, according to court documents filed in a case challenging the practice. The Trump Administration has failed to locate the children. It is unclear what effort the Administration actually made.
