The Big Lie

Republican Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) refuses to follow the Big Lie. The Big Lie is that Biden did not win the 2020 election fair and square.  Just not true. Trump lost. Cheney tweeted:

“The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system.”

At the annual retreat for the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, she said:

“We can’t embrace the notion the election is stolen. It’s a poison in the bloodstream of our democracy…. We can’t whitewash what happened on January 6 or perpetuate Trump’s big lie. It is a threat to democracy. What he did on January 6 is a line that cannot be crossed.”

She is a profile in courage compared to our Senator.

According to Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham spoke at a fundraiser. Informed that corporations had been reluctant to chip in for the event, Graham said:

“I don’t know how much money you lost from these corporate sponsors not giving you money but I’m gonna get on Sean Hannity’s show we’re going to raise every penny of it back—and these people can kiss my ass as far as I’m concerned.”
