Labor Market
The economy added 372,000 jobs in June. A better than expected boost to the record breaking labor market. The unemployment rate was 3.6 percent. This may prevent a recession but worsen inflation. However, gas and food prices have steadily decreased the past 30 days. I saw one gas station with gas for $3.98.
Georgia
Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker repeatedly lied about his out of wedlock children. Apparently his own campaign staff think he is a pathological liar. One campaign advisor told The Daily Beast:
“He’s lied so much that we don’t know what’s true.”
The Daily Beast reported that Walker repeatedly lied to his own campaign staffers for months about numerous “secret” children while blaming societal problems on absentee fathers. Wow. his own staff ridicule his intelligence and fear his “mood swings and instability.”
How can anyone vote for this guy?
Finally, former president Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary today. Theirs is the longest presidential marriage in our history. They were married in Plains, Georgia on this date in 1946.
