Big Tech’s Power Grab

In recent years, Big Tech manipulates data to create opportunities to insert themselves into the practice of law. Big Tech is actively working behind the scenes to influence legislation and ethics rules in every state. The goal is not to serve the interests of a client. Their sole intention is to generate massive profits. There are two primary ways Big Tech attempting to accomplish their goal: 1) advocating for non-lawyer ownership in law firms, and 2) allowing non-lawyers to practice law.

They will manipulate and control internet search results to direct potential clients to themselves. To dominate the market, they can offer lower-cost legal services. The massive scale will accomplish their goals of obtaining a large, dominant market share. If similar changes are made in South Carolina, it will likely have a negatively impact on all the judicial system.
